Event Details

The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) is not only an ambitious cross-border undertaking with the potential to generate significant value-add to both Johor's and Singapore's economy. It is also a spirited endeavour that goes against the unfortunate trend of isolationism and trade barriers. The special economic zone will be roughly four times the size of Singapore and nearly twice of Shenzhen. It will comprise a number of distinct zones catering to different sectors - including manufacturing, logistics, food security, tourism, energy, the digital economy, the green economy, financial services, business services, education and health - across Johor.

Since the agreement has now been inked, EICN is pleased to invite you to another insightful event this March. We will analyse and discuss the JS-SEZ's potential, identify opportunities and raise awareness as to the regulatory requirements and structural environment, as you evaluate if and how you can make the JS-SEZ work for your business.

Among other things, our expert panelists will discuss with you:

  • how to unlock investment potential and how businesses can benefit from streamlined investment incentives and facilitation.
  • JS-SEZ's competitive tax incentives, including a reduced corporate tax rate.
  • how businesses can embark on strategic expansion plans in the region and what obstacles still remain.
  • the timeline and plans for building and enhancing JS-SEZ connectivity, including the Johor-Singapore MRT extension, ease of travel and facilitation of smoother cross-border operations.

Join us for a dynamic gathering where we will delve into the immense possibilities that the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone presents.

Stay ahead of developments and engage with fellow executives and business leaders to learn how they are positioning themselves in the JS-SEZ.

Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please send an email to eicn_sea@economist.com.
