Event Details

As one of Yum!'s brands, this year KFC celebrates 50 years of trading in South Africa. The fast-food brand is also well developed into the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa with over 200 restaurants across 20 countries and growing. KFC's geographic coverage provides Dhruv Kaul with a unique perspective on the state of the African consumer.


During the session Mr Kaul will reflect on the challenges of operating in environments with varying degrees of lockdown restrictions, as well as aspects of their strategy and operating model that have been tested and confirmed, particularly over the last year.

    Dhruv Kaul is the General Manager KFC for Sub-Saharan Africa & CMO Africa. He has been with Yum! Brands for over 16 years across various leadership roles in general management, marketing and innovation based in India, United States and Africa. Prior to Yum! Dhruv was a management consultant with Accenture’s strategy practice. Dhruv has a Major in Economics from the University of Bombay, was awarded a Chevening Scholarship and an MBA from the University of Oxford. He currently based in Johannesburg with his wife and two boys and a recent lockdown addition of a lovable but obstinate basset hound.

Herman holds a BBA degree in Finance from Howard University.
