Event Details
The presidential race pits Joe Biden against the incumbent Donald Trump. Both men and their respective political parties have painted this election in existential terms. The Democrats have said supporters of Joe Biden must vote for him like their lives depended on it. Trump has indicated a Biden win would see America cascading into lawlessness, disorder and a socialist utopia.
Either candidate who is elected will be the oldest ever US president elected. However, the choices Americans will make between the two presidential candidates could not be more stark: an unconventional and polarising first time office holder who promised to drain the swamp against a member of the political establishment with nearly a half century in public office.
In this session we'll unpack hot off the press election results, the key issues on the declared winner's agenda, as well as the implications for US domestic and foreign policy over the next four years.
