For this Holy Month The Economist Corporate Network is organising a very special Ramadan Iftar - the way it was experienced in the 1950s.
We have planned an authentic Dubai Iftar experience in the majesty of the pristine desert at Platinum Heritage Desert Gate, Dubai.
We will travel in a dedicated fleet of vintage Land Rovers on a desert conservation drive before arriving at an authentic Bedouin camp, lit with the flames of traditional lamps nestled inside a private Royal desert retreat. We will witness a sunset falcon show and break the fast with fresh juices and dates while local Bedouin share engaging stories about their Ramadan traditions.
We will enjoy the evening dining under the stars with an Iftar spread of Ramadan favourites like lamb oozi, shish tawook and fish saloona, and we will be entertained with a Yola show, while relaxing in the majlis with unlimited shisha.
Finally we will hear the story of the stars in an interactive Astronomy session, and have the chance to gaze at the planets with a professional telescope and learn interesting facts about calendars and navigation from a professional astronomer. The desert is the best place in Dubai to admire the starry night sky.
Places on this special event are strictly limited, so this invitation is for ECN primary members only, one representative per company and non transferable. So please confirm your attendance ASAP.
