Event Details

Whether it's due to the problems created by a global pandemic, or by a single ship stuck in the Suez Canal, supply chain risks have become a very high priority. On Wednesday, April 28th, we will explore supply chain challenges in the region and identify ways to increase resilience, reduce uncertainty, and improve business performance.

The Covid-19 crisis helped illuminate important supply chain questions, but it was hardly the first challenge to come along. The risks facing supply chains have evolved over several years, with companies today facing the impacts of geopolitical shifts, cyberattacks, climate change, and pandemics. At the same time, fundamental changes in consumer behavior and routes to market are knocking companies off balance. On the positive side, new technologies offer the potential to increase transparency and speed.

Responding to the pandemic underscored the need for leaders to accelerate the adoption of agile ways of working and value chain transformation to outmaneuver uncertainty. Our conversation will explore these themes of agility and change management. Join us as we present some of the emerging trends in supply chain resilience, with a panel of leaders bringing diverse perspectives and an opportunity for discussion with your peers about the challenges and opportunities ahead.

This will be a hybrid event; we can have up to 45 members attend in person, and we have an online option for everyone else. Those joining us for breakfast and the in-person program will have the opportunity to meet with their peers in the network, while following safe distancing guidelines. We also realise that this event is during Ramadan, and so some of our members may prefer not to attend a breakfast event; in that case then we do hope you will join us online. Finally, we would like to point out that those attending in person do NOT require a Covid test, due to the small size of the event.

We look forward to having you join the conversation!

Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of The Economist Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please send an email to ecn_sea@economist.com.
