Director, Sub-Saharan Africa of The Economist Intelligence Corporate Network
Sam is a trained economist specialising in understanding the complexities of the South African economy. Prior to joining the EICN, Sam spent time in both the public and private sector, first as an economist within the Economic Policy division of the National Treasury, and then as a consulting economist at Econometrix, and Deloitte. During his time in private sector, Sam specialised in analysing events and government policies to dilute these into constructing business strategies. Sam also spent time in Switzerland as an economist for airline industry body IATA. Sam holds a masters degree in economics from Stellenbosch University, and has studied further at the Insitute for Social Studies in The Hague, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Levy Economics Insitute of Bard College in New York State.

Luc Van der Hofstadt holds a Masters in Law from the University of Antwerp (Belgium), is a Certified Coach from the Institute of Neurocognitivism and is a Belbin Team Role Accredited Trainer.
He teaches at various international Business Schools such as Insead Paris.
He regularly directs team and individual coaching sessions for Executive Committees, Managers and Individuals for corporate and institutional clients in various countries around the world. As an international facilitator and motivational speaker, Luc coaches and inspires on team dynamics, advices individuals, leaders and managers how to manage their own energy, their team members’ energy and their organizational energy in our diverse world. He also manages Mentally Fit South Africa which he founded.
Country Manager: South Africa and Cluster Lead: Sub-Saharan Africa at Pfizer South Africa
Kevin Francis was recently appointed as Pfizer’s Country Manager South Africa and Cluster Lead Sub-Saharan Africa. In his new role, Kevin will drive growth for the SSA Cluster and prepare the market for new launches, while managing the P&L and assuming revenue responsibility for the entire business. Prior to joining Pfizer, he held various senior executive positions in sales, marketing, and business development at pharmaceutical companies Sanofi, Abbott and Pfizer.
His experience spans more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical sector and related industries, most recently as Head of Healthcare at HolGoun Investment Holdings, a position he held for 12 years. Kevin’s key successes include the launching of a premium range of 16 first-to-market products and expanding their leadership position in the top three therapeutic categories.

Cicelia Van Rooi is Sales Director for Energy within Dow Industrial Solutions. In this role, Cicelia drives the DIS Energy Strategic Roadmap for the EMEAI region. This includes delivering on key growth projects, delivering on the P&L for the Energy portfolio, innovation, people development as well as providing sustainability support for the business initiative.
