Mr. Johannes Hack is the Chief Executive and General Manager, North Asia of DZ BANK's Hong Kong Branch and oversees the Bank's activities in China, Korea and Taiwan amongst others. Prior to moving to Hong Kong in June 2018, Johannes spent 10 years in Frankfurt and London heading DZ BANK's global Loan Syndication and the bank's European Renewable Financing business. He began his banking career as a Credit Analyst for Dresdner Bank in Berlin, Frankfurt and later as Head of Credit Department for BNP-Dresdner Bank in Moscow. Upon returning to Germany he spent 8 years with IKB Bank in Frankfurt and Duesseldorf as a Project Leader for Leverage Finance Transactions and latterly as a Loan Syndication Team Head. He holds a diploma in Economics from Technische Universitaet Berlin.

Eric is Deputy Secretary General at HKIAC.

Prior to joining the HKIAC, Eric worked for several years as a barrister-at-law in Hong Kong focusing primarily on international commercial and construction arbitrations, as well as general commercial litigation in Hong Kong, and has worked as counsel as well as tribunal secretary for several major international commercial, construction, and financial arbitrations around the world.

In addition to his work as a barrister, Eric was previously Adjunct Professor at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, lecturing in advocacy and investor-state arbitration. He has also lectured at Tsinghua University and Peking University. Eric has also published on issues of international dispute resolution and investor-state arbitration.

Eric holds a BCL from Oxford University, PCLL and JD from City University of Hong Kong, MSc E-commerce from the University of Hong Kong, as well as a BS in Business Administration and Information Systems from Babson College in the USA. He is admitted to practice law in Hong Kong.

Jean Sung is an executive director and the Head of Philanthropy Centre, Asia Private Bank, Hong Kong.

She is based in Hong Kong and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of giving models and structures. Jean brings experts and thought leaders together, explores trends and addresses pressing social issues on an ongoing basis to help philanthropists hear from peer groups and leverage actionable giving programs. Jean is recognized for her ability to identify social gaps and her wealth of cross- sector and multilateral networks helps build collaborative and like-minded alliances between the private and social sectors.

She also developed and initiated country-specific needs assessments, including KPIs, budgets and timelines in response to uplift social needs. Jean was responsible for setting up J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Philanthropy Centre in Asia and works with clients and their families to articulate their philanthropic vision, strategy and goals to bring purposes to their giving.

Prior to joining The Private Bank, Jean was Head of Global Philanthropy for J.P. Morgan Chase in Asia Pacific (2006 to 2013), managing the firm’s corporate giving in 13 Asian countries. In this role, Ms. Sung developed & implemented programs and services designed to improve livelihoods and skills at work, with a focus on economic & workforce development, financial empowerment, as well as education, health and disaster relief with non-profits and multi-lateral partners. .

She serves as Board Governor and Executive Committee Member of Bai Xian Asia Institute; Executive Member of Sustainability Committee, Link REIT; Independent Director of The UWCSEA Foundation Ltd, Member of Global Wellness Institute Advisory Board and Member of the McCain Global Leaders Advisory Council.

Rob joined HSBC in 2007 and has held roles spanning data analytics, Risk Management, Strategy and Global Banking in Canada, Japan and Hong Kong. Before his current role, Rob was the Head of Business Development for Global Banking in Asia where he was responsible for executing client strategy in the region. Previous to that Rob was the Head of the Financial Institutions Group coverage team in Hong Kong where he had oversight of both the Bank and Non-bank Financial Institutions sectors and covered some of the largest financial institutions in the world.

In his current role at HSBC, Rob leads strategy execution for HSBC in Asia. In this role he is responsible for setting strategy & measuring execution for the region.

Rob holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto Ontario and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Guelph.

Mr. Edward Chui is the Hong Kong Director at the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network.

Mr Chui has worked in the Greater China region for over 20 years. Before coming to The Economist Group, he was a consultant with Chesapeake Pacific Capital Management overseeing a range of thought leadership projects on the ultra-high net worth, family office, philanthropy, and next generation wealth succession. He was also Vice President at The Private Bank at JP Morgan in Hong Kong working with senior management in the expansion of the Asia Pacific business through special programs and wealth management publications for clients. Mr Chui also possesses extensive experience in the media and technology sectors having worked at Star TV, a subsidiary of News Corp, Alter Ego Networks in Silicon Valley and EF Education focusing on the China mobile business.

Mr Chui has a BA in Government from Wesleyan University and an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.
