Event Details
As the Earth's temperature continues to rise due to climate change, the way we work is undergoing a profound transformation. With scorching heat waves becoming increasingly common, working outdoors during the day may soon become unbearable, pushing societies to consider new ways of working. Rising temperatures will drastically disrupt the concept of a conventional 9-5 working day and fundamentally change the way economies operate.
What does the shift to night time work entail? What would a nocturnal workforce look like, and demand? What benefits or risks would accrue to companies if they are "open" more during the night?
Using a range of foresight techniques, methods and practices, we will actively explore the future of sustainability at a company level. The aim of the session is to explore multiple futures informed by emerging trends in sustainability and ESG at the national, company and consumer level.
The aim of this workshop is to explore:
- What factors are shaping the future of the night time economy?
- Which ones could have the greatest impact? How certain are they?
- How might these factors affect key stakeholders in the night time economy?
- How can businesses react to this?
