Event Details

In 2021, Bank Negara Malaysia solicited applications for five digital banking licenses to be issued in 2022, and received 29 applications. To understand the impact of creating a digital bank, we will examine the effect that this might have on the financial sector in general and the fintech industry in particular. Of special note is the potential to bring Malaysia's unbanked population, estimated at 15%, into the banking system through new means.

As finance continues to move into the digital realm, the growth of digital banking offers opportunities for customers and companies alike. What does the future of digital finance suggest for how we do business? Join us as we explore how firms from all industries may change their approach to financial services as new methods and tools emerge.

We realize those of you celebrating Ramadan won't be partaking of the breakfast, but we hope you will join us for the in-person networking and the insights into an emerging technology.

Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please send an email to ecn_sea@economist.com.
