Once again, we are delighted to invite EICN members to gaze into the crystal ball with Tom Standage, deputy editor of The Economist and editor of its future-gazing annual, The World Ahead.
The Economist is known for its thought provoking predictions and challenges to conventional thinking. These are given special focus in The World Ahead.
The World Ahead 2023 will build on more than three decades of publishing success. This will be the 37th edition. It will consider the interlocking crises facing the world in the year ahead: the global consequences of the war in Ukraine for geopolitics, energy and food supplies; the struggle to control inflation, a side-effect of the pandemic magnified by the war; the energy crunch's impact on the transition to renewables; and China's uncertain post-pandemic path.
A special section, "Understand This", will explain the jargon and buzzwords readers will need to know in 2023, such as blue hydrogen, frozen conflict, dead pool and post-quantum cryptography.
On December 13, exclusive to EICN members, we invite you to get a sneak peak and discuss the main trends we should all be preparing for in 2023. Tom will discuss his "Top Ten" trends in a recorded interview with Sumana Rajarethnam, Director, EICN Southeast Asia, and we will convene a panel of futurists and foresight experts to get deeper into why those trends matter.
Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please send an email to email@example.com.
