    Dr. Chun Chang is a Professor of Finance and Huifu Chair Professor at Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Professor Chang has an extensive academic career, serving as the Executive Dean of SAIF from 2010 to 2021. Prior to joining SAIF, he was the Associate Dean and Professor of Finance at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), holding the ABN AMRO Chair in Risk Management from 2004 to 2010. Before returning to China, Professor Chang taught at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota for 17 years.

    Professor Chang is recognized as the first scholar from the People's Republic of China to become a finance professor at an American university. Additionally, he is the first scholar to return to China on a full-time basis after becoming a tenured finance professor at an American university.

    Professor Chang's research interests encompass corporate finance, macro finance, economics of organizations, and institutions with recent attention to the issues related to offshore RMB financial system, data factor/data assets, and global macroeconomic policy paradigms. He has published over 30 high-standard international articles in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Business, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. He is the author of "Corporate Finance for Chinese Entrepreneurs" (2006) and "Corporate Finance" (2008). In 2009, he served as the team leader for the project "Supply Chain Finance," published by CEIBS and Shenzhen Development Bank.

    Professor Chang received the Sun Yefang Financial Innovation Award in 2016 and the 8th Scientific Research Excellence Award of the Ministry of Education (Humanities and Social Sciences) in 2020. He has also presided over several key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and received the SAIF Faculty Academic Research Award in 2018.

    Professor Chang served as the President of the Chinese Economists Society and was the Executive Editor of the Chinese Economic Review, an authoritative international academic journal on China's economy, from 2004 to 2009.

    At SAIF, Professor Chang offers courses on "Corporate Finance" and "Challenges of Corporate Finance and Management," blending theoretical knowledge with practical insights.

    Sir Martin Sorrell is Founder and Executive Chairman of S4 Capital plc, the tech led, new age / new era digital advertising and marketing services company for global, multinational, regional and local clients, and millennial-driven influencer brands.

    Sir Martin was Founder and CEO of WPP for 33 years, building it from a £1 million ‘shell’ company in 1985 into the world’s largest advertising and marketing services company. When Sir Martin left in April 2018, WPP had a market capitalisation of over £16 billion, revenues of over £15 billion, profits of approximately £2 billion and over 200,000 people in 113 countries. Prior to that, Sir Martin was Group Financial Director of Saatchi & Saatchi plc for nine years and worked for James Gulliver, Mark McCormack and Glendinning Associates before that.

    In 2018, S4Capital merged with MediaMonks, the leading AdAge A-listed creative digital content production company, and then with MightyHive, the market-leading digital media solutions provider for future thinking marketers and agencies. Since then, MediaMonks and MightyHive have combined with more than 30 companies.

He has also been nominated as one of the TIME 100: The Most Influential People. He is also an Honorary Fellow of Christ’s College, Cambridge and a Director of Bloomberg Philanthropies.

    Eric joined Prudential Financial in July 2021 as Country President for China of Prudential International Insurance. Eric has full strategic and P&L responsibility for Prudential’s insurance businesses in China, which includes all current and future businesses held via our joint venture(s), fully owned subsidiaries, and strategic investments.

    Eric is a senior executive in China’s insurance industry with more than 20 years of experience in insurance operations. Before joining Prudential, Eric spent more than 10 years in Cigna & CMB Life in two different phases, the last five years serving as the CEO. Under his leadership, the company entered an era of fast, profitable, and sustainable growth, with all key growth rate metrics consistently outperforming market averages. He also expanded the business by setting up health management and asset management subsidiaries for the company.

    In 2014, Eric took a challenge to build a new company, China United Life Insurance, from scratch, and led the launch of the business as executive director and general manager. Eric’s earlier experience includes serving as CFO of Huatai Insurance Group, and a variety of roles with Ping An Insurance Group and Arthur Andersen. Eric also brings a rich experience of working with company boards, joint ventures, and regulators in the Chinese market.

    Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sun Yat-sen University and an MBA from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). He is also a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

    Weisi Xie is the Shanghai Director at the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network (EICN), and is responsible for engaging with top executives in the region on key economic and political issues as well as industry-specific analysis to support their businesses in the dynamic Chinese market.

    Mr. Xie served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University before joining EICN. As a trained trade economist, his teaching and research mainly focused on the fields of international trade, industrial economics and economic development, with a particular emphasis on China’s economy in a global perspective. He also possesses extensive expertise in the non-profit sector through work experience with think tanks and international organizations, including the Shanghai Institute for National Economy and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he contributed to multiple government counseling projects and policy studies. His work has appeared in leading academic journals as well as major economic policy publications.

    Mr. Xie has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a B.A. in International Business from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.

    Anke Schrader is the China director of the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network. Utilizing over two decades of living and working in China, Anke works closely with network members to help inform their business strategies through political, economic, and operational insight and to connect them with their senior leadership peers.

    Anke is also a recognized sustainability expert. She is the author of numerous publications on ESG, citizenship, and sustainable development issues in China and served six years as Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in China’s Business Sustainability Committee.

    Before joining The Economist Group, Anke was the Asia Research Director at The Conference Board, where she led strategic planning and execution of thought leadership research for China and the Asia region, leading a team of economists and researchers covering macroeconomics, human capital, and sustainability research. She also previously worked as a strategy consultant at PwC in Beijing advising multinational clients on macroeconomic, policy, market entry strategy, and operational issues.

    Anke has led multi-year China research partnerships with Cornell University and Indiana University (funded by the Henry Luce Foundation and the Ford Foundation), was a guest lecturer at Cornell’s Employment and Disability Institute, and a mentor for the Schwarzman Scholars Program at Tsinghua University.

    Anke received scholarships for Chinese language studies at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing and Shanghai Jiaotong University’s international MBA program. She holds an M.A. in politics and management from University of Konstanz.
