Event Details

2025 is shaping up to be a year of opposing economic forces and tectonic political plate shifts. As the Trump administration gathers steam, the intended and unintended consequences of its policies will be reverberating throughout the global economy โ€“ with profound impacts for global alliances, trade, industrial policy, the energy transition and regional conflict. How can and should companies prepare for what's next?

Meanwhile, US-China tensions remain at the forefront of geopolitics, with the risk of new trade restrictions and technology curbs looming large. If the US doubles down on a muscular, unilateral approach to China, what does this mean for China's growth prospects in 2025 and beyond? The country's policy priorities are shifting, but the uncertainty about trade, investment flows, and geopolitical volatility will define the year ahead.

For this April's Regional Strategic Forecast, we are bringing in the EIU's Principal Economist for Asia and Lead Analyst for Global Trade, Nick Marro, who will guide us through:

  • The global and regional economic outlookโ€”our latest forecasts for global growth, Asia, and China.
  • The US-China relationship and trade risks, and what comes next for tariffs and supply chains.
  • Key takeaways from the Two Sessions, and what they reveal about China's policy priorities.

Join us, along with a panel of business leaders, academics, and industry experts, as we unpack the global outlook, trade dynamics, and China's economic trajectory, distilling the critical strategic insights that will define the business landscape in China.

Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of The Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please contact us.
