Ms. Marjo Crompvoets is a diplomat with over 26 years of experience in International Affairs, with a focus on Asia and Oceania. Her expertise is founded on an MA International Relations from University of Groningen and an MA in Chinese Languages and Cultures. Since joining the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996, she has gained extensive policy experience at several departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, as well as practice on the ground at several missions. From 2010 to 2015 she was the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy in Seoul, until 2019 Consul General in Guangzhou and since 2021 she is Consul General in Shanghai.

Tom is a seasoned analyst who delivers high impact global research and insight. He identifies the economic and geopolitical themes that will shape the global business landscape and leads the development of powerful, data-driven forecasts that make a difference for clients. A sought after presenter of the EIU’s global outlook at keynote events, Tom enjoys sharing his views in boardroom settings and appears regularly in media.

Tom draws on more than a decade of experience as an analyst at EIU, much of it spent working in China. He is a published expert on China’s political economy and has conducted in-depth research on issues such as supply chains and geopolitical risk across Asia. Prior to EIU, Tom held research and policy roles in organisations including the UK Parliament and Oxford Analytica. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Oxford.

Professor Xu Xianchun was Deputy Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China from July 2006 and March 2017. He spent 31 years working at the NBS, and served as Director-General of the Department of National Accounts before becoming the Deputy Commissioner.

Dr Xu is currently an advisor of the China Finance 40 Forum (CF40). He also severed as Distinguished Fellow at National School of Development of Peking University, and a Professor at the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University.

Jason holds a MBA degree from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University.

Graduated in Law at the University of Teramo (Italy), he then subsequently obtained a Masters’ degree in Corporate Advisor at LUISS University in Rome and a Diploma in Chinese Studies at Nanjing Normal University and is a member of the Italian Bar Association.

Mr. D’Andrea arrived in China in 2005 and is fluent in Italian (mother tongue), English, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. He mainly deals with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, assistance in ODI/FDI and intellectual property rights. He is also acting as National Vice President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.

Weisi Xie is the Shanghai Director at the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network (EICN), and is responsible for engaging with top executives in the region on key economic and political issues as well as industry-specific analysis to support their businesses in the dynamic Chinese market.

Mr. Xie served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University before joining EICN. As a trained trade economist, his teaching and research mainly focused on the fields of international trade, industrial economics and economic development, with a particular emphasis on China’s economy in a global perspective. He also possesses extensive expertise in the non-profit sector through work experience with think tanks and international organizations, including the Shanghai Institute for National Economy and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he contributed to multiple government counseling projects and policy studies. His work has appeared in leading academic journals as well as major economic policy publications.

Mr. Xie has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a B.A. in International Business from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
