Women in leadership: The road to becoming a CEO

Following the success of last year's event titled "Women in leadership: The desirability of men and women working together," EICN is pleased to announce its 2024 session highlighting the crucial role of female CEOs. For years The Economist has published compelling reports on the unseen barriers limiting women's advancement in business. Yet, despite corporate efforts to prioritise diversity through goal setting, gender candidate slates and mentoring programmes, the proportion of female leaders still lags behind that of male CEOs—especially in Japan. Why aren't these strategies working? What constitutes the identity of a true corporate leader, and what obstacles impede the ascent of women to the top of the C-suite? What novel solutions are required if the current approach yields slow progress? Is your company sufficiently empowering female workers to envision themselves as "leaders"? Join us for this year's women in leadership event, where we delve into the significance, success stories, and lingering barriers hindering the realisation of female executives' full potential.
