Event Details

As Tomas Anker Christensen, Denmark's Climate Ambassador wrote in his recent article in Korea Herald, "going green before others is a lucrative and sustainable business". While some view President Moon's green new deal with skepticism, being "green" is increasingly viewed as a necessary and profitable business strategy in the long run. How should we assess the initiatives included in the green new deal? How should the government balance the short term goal of economic recovery and longer term goal of sustainability? What are the challenges South Korea needs to overcome in becoming a frontrunner in the race for green technology? Are Korean consumers' attitude toward sustainability changing?

Join us as we discuss the sustainability challenge South Korea faces in the context of corona recession.

We are happy to let you know that we plan to hold the event as the first in-person event in Seoul since the corona pandemic broke in 2020. The event will be held as a breakfast event at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul on October 22. While I am yet unable to travel to Seoul, I am glad to announce that the event will be moderated by Lena Schipper, the Seoul bureau chief for The Economist. She has been reporting on South Korea for the past 2 years, and she would be eager to meet you and share her analysis on South Korea as well as her vast experience working in the middle east she has been stationed in the past. I will also join the event remote.

Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of The Economist Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please contact us.
