Event Details

The sharing economy is having a moment and its importance is projected to increase dramatically in the coming years. Its size is already too big for the governments to ignore it in the GDP calculations. Business leaders have to respond as well when peer-to-peer exchange of goods and services facilitated by online platforms disrupts many traditional industries. On the other hand, rigid regulations and legal concerns stall the growth for many of the sharing services and some of the most promising ones have so far produced mixed results.

How to take advantage of the new opportunities presented by the sharing economy? What are its prospects in a conservative business environment of Japan? How can the circular economy advance the agenda on sustainable development and ethical consumption?

Join us as we explore how the collaborative economy transforms business and society and what it can bring to Japan.
