Richard has worked as a finance leader in Emerson for over eighteen years in various global positions including China, Europe and the USA. Richard is now based in Hong Kong covering Asia, Middle East and Africa as VP Finance for Emerson’s Commercial and Residential Solutions Platform which helps ensure human comfort and health, protect food quality and safety, advance energy efficiency and create sustainable infrastructure.

Previously Richard worked for BHP a world-leading resource company and served the Australian Government as General Manager for Trade and Investment covering the Greater China region.

Richard holds a dual Bachelor of Commerce and Asian Studies degrees from Murdoch University in Australia and has been a visiting scholar at Hangzhou University, Beijing Language Institute and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. He is fluent in Mandarin and has worked in the Region for over twenty years.

Mr. Taylor Lam is the Senior Vice President of Product Development & Management at CITIC Telecom CPC. He is responsible for leading and managing the company ’s product portfolio. Leveraging his expertise in the ICT industry, Mr. Lam is a key contributor to develop new and innovative strategy to enhance and enrich the company ’s products.

Mr. Lam brings to CITIC Telecom CPC over 15 years ’ of experience in telecoms, IT and digital media. Prior to joining CITIC Telecom CPC, he was the Head of Hong Kong in Analysys Mason, a TMT consultancy, leading projects spanning commercial and technical due diligence, business and strategic planning, telecoms operations improvement, and market assessment. Previously Mr. Lam also held various roles in Value Partners management consulting and PCCWHKT.

Mr. Lam holds an M.Eng. and B.A. Honours degree in Electrical and Information Science from the University of Cambridge.

John is a Senior Analyst for Asia-Pacific based in The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Hong Kong office. He covers Vietnam, Indonesia and Hong Kong. His specialist research interests include monetary policy, tourism and electronics goods trade, while he has also had tenures covering Bangladesh, Mongolia, Taiwan and Thailand. John is also the Asia Manager for Country Risk Service, The Economist Intelligence Unit’s credit risk rating product.

Before joining the EIU he worked as a Project Officer on several European Commission business facilitation projects in Beijing, China. He also previously worked for The Asia Foundation in Mongolia, a non-government international organisation, on their anti-corruption and good mining practices programmes. John holds a Master's degree in Economics with reference to the Asia-Pacific region from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where he specialised in the economic and demographic development of China and East Asia.

Janet Pau is the Director of The Economist Corporate Network in Hong Kong. She brings her experience working with top executives throughout Asia, coupled with economic knowledge and industry insight to help organisational leaders and their teams gain a holistic, practical appreciation of the opportunities and challenges in Greater China and across Asia.

Before joining The Economist Corporate Network, Janet was Program Director for the Asia Business Council, developing and delivering content for private forums for an all-CEO membership in Asia for more than a decade. Prior to that, she was Manager at the Global Business Policy Council at consulting firm A.T. Kearney in Washington D.C., where she led consulting projects and intellectual capital publications for senior executive clients in both business and government.

Janet’s publications include Through the Eyes of Tiger Cubs: Views of Asia’s Next Generation (Wiley, 2012) and Building Energy Efficiency (Encyclopaedia of China Publishing House, Chinese edition, 2008). She was an op-ed contributor and columnist for the South China Morning Post from 2011 to 2019. She has also contributed opinion pieces and book chapters, and spoken at various local and regional business conferences.

She serves on the leadership team of Hong Kong-based charity Beyond Foundation, which advocates for children with special needs and their families. She was a member on the Hong Kong Government’s Antiquities Advisory Board, Museum Advisory Board, and Central Policy Unit.

Janet received a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies and psychology with honours from Yale University and a Master in Public Policy specializing in economic policy and competitiveness from Harvard University.
