    Mukul Deoras became President, Asia Pacific for Colgate-Palmolive in 2018, a role he knows well having first held the position from 2012 to 2015. Mukul has also served as Colgate-Palmolive’s Global Chief Marketing Officer and led Colgate-Palmolive business in Thailand and India. He joined Colgate in 2004 after two decades rising through the ranks of Unilever India. Mukul is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.

    VP, Chief Credit Officer, Greater China at American Express International, Inc

    Tony Tsai is Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for Greater China at American Express and is responsible for coordinating and managing credit risk strategy across the organization. Prior to this role he worked in several countries such as Japan and Australia for American Express managing several different portfolios and functions in the Risk organization. Before joining American Express Tony worked in the mortgage business at GE Capital in Australia. Tony is passionate about developing talents and driving innovation.

    He holds a masters of Quantitative Finance from University of Technology Sydney, double bachelors in Actuarial Studies and Computer Science from Macquarie University and CFA, FRM and AIAA designations.

    Cailin Birch is the Global Economist at The Economist Intelligence Unit. She is a frequent guest in national and international media, providing critical insight into global political and economic trends. She is also an experienced speaker and moderator at high-level events, who can deliver thoughtful insights and draw impactful conclusions from complex discussions.

    Cailin leads The EIU’s economic and political forecasts for the United States, including in-depth analysis of the health of the US economy, market-moving political and election trends, and how the US and other developed economies affect emerging markets. She is also responsible for The EIU’s five-year oil market outlook, leveraging real-time data to forecast how oil supplies, global demand and geopolitical risk factors will influence oil prices.

    Cailin joined The EIU in 2015, and has previously served as a regional expert for the Middle East and Africa and for global commodities. She has a BA in international studies from Georgetown University and a Masters in international security from Sciences-Po Paris.

    Janet Pau is the Director of The Economist Corporate Network in Hong Kong. She brings her experience working with top executives throughout Asia, coupled with economic knowledge and industry insight to help organisational leaders and their teams gain a holistic, practical appreciation of the opportunities and challenges in Greater China and across Asia.

    Before joining The Economist Corporate Network, Janet was Program Director for the Asia Business Council, developing and delivering content for private forums for an all-CEO membership in Asia for more than a decade. Prior to that, she was Manager at the Global Business Policy Council at consulting firm A.T. Kearney in Washington D.C., where she led consulting projects and intellectual capital publications for senior executive clients in both business and government.

    Janet’s publications include Through the Eyes of Tiger Cubs: Views of Asia’s Next Generation (Wiley, 2012) and Building Energy Efficiency (Encyclopaedia of China Publishing House, Chinese edition, 2008). She was an op-ed contributor and columnist for the South China Morning Post from 2011 to 2019. She has also contributed opinion pieces and book chapters, and spoken at various local and regional business conferences.

    She serves on the leadership team of Hong Kong-based charity Beyond Foundation, which advocates for children with special needs and their families. She was a member on the Hong Kong Government’s Antiquities Advisory Board, Museum Advisory Board, and Central Policy Unit.

    Janet received a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies and psychology with honours from Yale University and a Master in Public Policy specializing in economic policy and competitiveness from Harvard University.
