Event Details

The Global Sustainability Initiative is EICN's new annual event exploring how sustainability issues are shaping global business and geopolitics. This year, our events will focus on the opportunities and challenges firms will face in grappling with climate change. At COP26, there was more corporate engagement than ever and increasingly businesses are active partners in the urgent effort of stabilising our climate. Through these programmes, EICN aims to go beyond greenwashing and equip members with real insights and foster practical dialogues.

Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of The Economist Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please contact us.

    Sarah Negro

Global Public Affairs Senior Manager at H&M

A strong believer that multinational companies with their leverage can make the biggest difference in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals, I have bridged my career from diplomacy to business.

After working for a Chamber of commerce and as a Diplomat for Italy in Europe and Asia, in 2018 I joined H&M Group to make a difference of how we can drive systematic change.

The garment industry can play a fundamental role. We employ millions of people in developing countries, most of them women. Enabling human and labour rights is a powerful step towards a more equitable distribution of value and income. Our operations have a huge impact on climate change. Geo-political trends have a more direct impact on our business operations than before.

Driving in uncertainty, my beacon is meaningful growth.
