Event Details

After eight years of marathon negotiation, the regional comprehensive economic partnership (RCEP) was finally signed on November 15th, 2020. It includes ten ASEAN countries along with five of their major trading partners: China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. With about 30% of the world's population and GDP, the RCEP is the largest trade bloc in history.

Is RCEP a significant step towards economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region? Will RCEP change the business landscape in China and the rest of the Asia-Pacific? How should multinational corporations position themselves to seize the opportunities or to face the challenges brought by RCEP? Will RCEP aggravate or alleviate the on-going trade tension between China and the United States?
