Regional food security: the state of play

Prabdeep Bajwa is President, Africa & Middle East of Corteva Agriscience™ with responsibility for the business in the region.
He joined DuPont Pioneer in 2001 and has served in strategic leadership and operational roles across the world. Prior to joining the Africa business in 2015, he was based in Singapore, where he served as the Director of Marketing and Product Strategy for DuPont Pioneer's Asia Pacific region. Prior to his role at Corteva Agriscience ™, Bajwa was regional director, Africa with responsibility for he company's Seed and Crop Protection business, including DuPont Pioneer, PANNAR and DuPont Crop Protection. Bajwa holds a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, specializing in Food Science and Technology, and an MBA from Punjab Agricultural University. He also holds an MBA from Iowa State University and is an alumni of the Harvard Business School.

Herman Warren is The Economist Corporate Network’s Network Director for Africa. Herman works with corporate clients to provide insight and analysis on a range of topics related to the broad and specific African context, helping clients to prosper in one of the world's fastest growing and most dynamic economic zones. He regularly chairs and moderates events and delivers custom briefings to senior executives. Herman is the author of a number of white papers on infrastructure, financial and commercial developments in the region. Herman has previously worked as a management consultant with Bain & Company, started and run a successful mobile technology company and has held senior posts in both public- and private-sector corporations. Herman holds a BBA degree in Finance from Howard University.
