Event Details

The current environment of geopolitical volatility and global economic weakness is breeding the conditions for increasing disengagement between China and the West by exacerbating tensions over contentious issues such as technology and economic security; and by leading to regulatory and policy decisions that are deepening mistrust.

To make matters worse, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are increasingly living in a virtual world with travel restrictions and quarantines. Which makes it very difficult for the right people to sit down and talk things through. Not surprisingly, international perceptions about China have continued deteriorating, while perceptions in China about other countries are growing more negative – driven in great part by increasing nationalism amongst the younger generations.

Against this backdrop, what can MNCs do to avoid getting caught in the crossfire and damage their reputations?
