Herman Warren is The Economist Corporate Network’s Network Director for Africa. Herman works with corporate clients to provide insight and analysis on a range of topics related to the broad and specific African context, helping clients to prosper in one of the world's fastest growing and most dynamic economic zones. He regularly chairs and moderates events and delivers custom briefings to senior executives. Herman is the author of a number of white papers on infrastructure, financial and commercial developments in the region. Herman has previously worked as a management consultant with Bain & Company, started and run a successful mobile technology company and has held senior posts in both public- and private-sector corporations. Herman holds a BBA degree in Finance from Howard University.

Hennie joined DHL Express seventeen years ago as MD for Central Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands (CENIO). He then moved on to become MD for DHL Express South Africa where he was instrumental in driving change and implementing new innovative processes and strategies for the ZA business division. Hennie, a supply chain and international shipping specialist, became CEO for DHL Express Sub Saharan Africa in September 2015. In his current role, he is responsible for Finance, Information Technology, Operations, Customer Service, Human Resources and Commercial activities in the Sub-Saharan region. He has 51 countries and territories, over 4000 employees, over 250 facilities, five regional hubs, and 15 dedicated DHL aircraft under his guidance. Prior to joining DHL Express, he served as Managing Director for Olivetti Lexikon and as the FM and GM for Multichoice Africa in South Africa. Heymans is highly passionate about his employees and regards employee satisfaction and engagement as a key component to cultivating business commercial success. He is married with two children.

Seydou Kane (Managing Director of Eaton Electric)

In this role, he is responsible for leading Eaton’s Electrical Sector team throughout Africa and driving Eaton’s ambitious growth strategy for Africa. Kane has more than 15 years’ experience in management, sales and strategic marketing in four continents. Prior to taking on the role as Managing Director at Eaton, he held several key management positions including Western Africa Cluster Leader & Managing Director, Senior Account Manager, Growth Leader – Africa, Marketing Manager and Internal Consulting and Strategy at Du Pont over the past nine years across South Africa, Nigeria and Switzerland. He also held various positions at Sweda Group and Allianz Group in Spain, Hong Kong, Brazil and Chile from 1999-2005. He is a Master’s of Business Administration graduate from IMD business school in Switzerland, has a Bachelor’s degree from ESSCA in France and a Black Belt certification in Six Sigma.

Malusi has spent most of his career in the South African Employee Benefits industry. He has experience in retirement fund consulting, finance, product development, strategy and management. Since February 2017 he has held the role of Head of Old Mutual Corporate Consultants. He has a proven track record and brings a variety of experience gained through his previous work experience at Old Mutual, Liberty and MMI. An actuary, he is also a non-executive director of OMART, a cell captive life insurer and holds an MBA with distinction from Hariot-Watt University (UK).

René Snyman was appointed MD for Beckman Coulter (Sub Saharan Africa) in January 2007. Beckman Coulter (Pty) Ltd is a subsidiary of Beckman Coulter Inc which is a world leader in providing systems that simplify and automate laboratory processes used in all phases of the battle against disease. Ms Snyman started her career with Beckman Coulter in 1997 working in sales and marketing. Since her appointment as MD for Beckman Coulter she has been actively involved in several HIV projects in South Africa, Namibia and Zambia and specifically the management and testing of CD4 in high volume laboratories. Earlier in her career, Ms Snyman managed a clinical chemistry pathology laboratory for a private pathology practice. She holds a BSc degree honors in biochemistry and business management diploma from MCE (Brussels).
