China is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and reaching the peak of carbon emissions in 2030. At the Central Economic Work Conference in December last year, China's top policymakers explicitly called on the financial sector to provide more support to achieve these two goals. Following the trend of carbon neutrality, China's green finance industry will usher in a historic opportunity for development. Compared with local financial institutions in China, multinational financial institutions have their advantages but also face certain limitations. How to actively integrate into China's carbon neutrality trend and seize the development opportunities of the green finance industry will profoundly impact multinational financial institutions' future business landscape in China. This event will invite CEOs of multinational financial institutions in China to share their insights on the development trend of China's green finance industry and how to grasp the development opportunities along with this trend.

Specific discussion topics include but are not limited to:

• International experience in the development of the green finance industry

• Possible development routes of China's green finance industry

• New policies and new opportunities for green finance under the general trend of carbon neutrality

• Advantages and weaknesses of multinational financial institutions in the green finance industry

• Possible contributions of foreign institutions to the development of China's green finance industry

Please note that this event is limited to senior-level executives and per invitation only. If you are not an existing member of The Economist Corporate Network, but would like to learn how you can attend our events, please contact us.
