Paul Slavin is an experienced international executive with over 30 years of professional experience. He has worked as a channel and beauty expert in different parts of the world, including Europe (U.K., Ireland), the Middle East (Dubai) and Asia (Korea, Malaysia and India).

Since joining The Estée Lauder Companies in 2005, Paul has taken on increasing leadership responsibilities across the globe, and currently leads the business in the Korean market in the role of General Manager, The Estée Lauder Companies Korea (ELCA Korea), since June 2018. As General Manager of the Korea affiliate, he oversees the strategies, manages the corporate functions, channels as well as staff for the 15+ brands in the market across different channels.

Prior to his current role as General Manager, The Estée Lauder Companies Korea, Paul was General Manager of the Malaysia affiliate for more than six years. He has driven and strengthened operations, corporate functions, talent, and channels, and successfully led the notable growth of the Malaysia affiliate. Previously, he held the position of Vice President/ General Manager, Clinique Asia-Pacific (APAC), based in Hong Kong, and was responsible for the development and execution of the Clinique brand strategy in 13 markets across the APAC region. Prior to that, Paul was Brand General Manger, Clinique, Middle East & India, based in Dubai, managing five affiliates and various distributor partners. With his experience and leadership positions in multiple countries, Paul has developed vast expertise, from business strategy to corporate functions, brands and channels.

Paul began his career with Boots in the U.K. and Ireland where he held various management roles, including store management, regional finance management (including sales and budgeting), regional operations, and managing 350-500 staff. He graduated with honors in Pharmacy from the Robert Gordon University (Scotland).

Paul holds U.K. citizenship and speaks native English.

Takuji Okubo is the North Asia Director of The Economist Corporate Network, managing the Networks in Japan and in South Korea.

Prior to joining The Economist Group, Takuji was the Managing Director and Chief Economist at Japan Macro Advisors, serving global fortune 500 companies and financial institutions in Japan and abroad. In his past career, Takuji was a Chief Economist at Societe Generale, in charge of Japan and of South Korea, and a senior economist at Merrill Lynch and at Goldman Sachs. Outside his role at ECN, Takuji also serves as a non-executive director at Japan Risk Forum, an association of Chief Risk Officers among Japanese financial institutions.

Takuji holds B.A in Economics from Tokyo University and while at the university he was a recipient of prestigious INOUE scholarship. He holds MBA from INSEAD and Msc. In Economics from UPF in Barcelona. Apart from work, he enjoys motor-cycling, scuba-diving, cooking as well as worrying about the future of the Japanese economy.
